About Me
I am so glad you are here! I’m Dr. Heidi Pulito and I am a wearer of a stained white coat, master of the fat cat cystocentesis, quality of life discussing fierce veterinarian. In April of 2016 while flying at 40,000 feet, I set out to write some blog posts. When I opened my computer, God told me to write a book. I had no idea what I was going to write about since I had never planned to write a book! What ensued was a year or intense learning, failing, and getting back up again in my career all captured in the pages of by first book, Victory Unleashed- A Veterinarian’s Tail of Thriving in a Profession Marked for Depression.
I am currently a small animal veterinarian practicing in rural Illinois. I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband named Tony and we have one little Chiweenie named Eve. What I love most about veterinary medicine is veterinarians! Plain and simple: I love chatting with them, studying them, and learning how we can as a whole decrease the looming statistics of depression and suicide in this profession. I do not have all the answers, and trust me, I am the first one who needs to practice all the widsom in my book. However, what I do know, what I do have, I give to you in hopes that together and most importantly,with Jesus, we can learn how to thrive in this crazy roller coaster of a profession.
